Sheath Air Filter Problems

Symptoms (Software Warnings):

• "Sheath air filter voltage is fluctuating, possibly coronating"
• "Sheath air filter voltage is too low, possibly coronating"

Cause: These warnings indicate a potential abnormal electrical load on a sheath air filter voltage, which suggests that a corona discharge may be occurring inside the filter. Depending on its polarity and location, this discharge can produce charged particles, creating an invalid signal in the mobility analyzers and disrupting measurements.

Solution: Clean the sheath air filters.
